Join the largest construction project in the UK and be part of history! Hinkley Point C is building two advanced nuclear plants to provide sustainable power to millions of homes. We’re looking for a skilled Construction Delivery Manager to join our team and help shape this landmark project.
Principal Accountabilities
As a Construction Delivery Manager in the HPC Site Construction Team, you will be key in achieving safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives for assigned sections of the project. Your role will oversee construction activities within the Nuclear Island (NI) area.
- Site Leadership: Manage site operations, ensuring the team follows safety and compliance standards.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Oversee health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting regular inspections.
- Coordination & Reporting: Lead weekly planning meetings, manage daily site logs, and create concise reports for stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a main contact for the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), including contractors and project managers.
- Surveillance & Quality Control: Document and monitor all construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Document Management: Review construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Project Leadership: Proven experience managing large, complex construction projects, ideally in high-security environments.
- Commercial Knowledge: Understanding of the commercial aspects affecting construction operations.
- Communication: Strong organizational and communication skills for producing clear reports.
- Team Motivation: Effective team leadership with a results-oriented approach.
- Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction; NEBOSH, SMSTS, or IOSH certified.
- CDM Knowledge: Understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and their effective implementation on-site.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Nuclear Industry Experience: Previous experience in the nuclear sector is a plus.
- High-Security Site Operations: Familiarity with high-security operations is beneficial.
