Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management:
   • Support and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in Safety, Quality, Environment, and Health Management Systems (e.g., SS506 part 3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, IATF 16949).
   • Act responsibly to ensure the safety of yourself and others at work, adhering to legal obligations.
   • Assist in ensuring Major Accident Hazards are minimized to the lowest possible level (ALARP) and escalate when necessary.
   • Ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).
2. General Duties:
   • Be an active member of the production leadership team, helping formulate departmental goals and strategies.
   • Familiarize yourself with the production plant and support the team in improving safety, quality, and efficiency.
   • Support Research and Development (R&D) in manufacturing technology improvements for the plant.
3. Safety & Environmental Management:
   • Provide support for safe, stable operations and ensure quality products.
   • Manage Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) issues, resolving any problems that arise.
   • Review and investigate abnormalities, non-conforming products, and incident reports, and propose corrective actions.
   • Plan and lead Non-regular work activities, providing training to supervisors and technicians.
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., water management, energy conservation, workplace safety).
   • Implement ISO 14001 procedures, identify and manage significant environmental aspects, and ensure proper monitoring and documentation.
4. Operational Support:
   • Setup and maintain operating conditions, checklists, and logs to ensure environmental, health, safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
   • Administer the DCS system, ensuring proper documentation of any changes.
   • Troubleshoot production and quality issues.
   • Assist in training shift teams, providing guidance on new procedures, abnormality reports, and work instructions.
   • Lead and support ASDM work as assigned by superiors.
5. Process Improvement:
   • Lead process optimization and capacity improvement initiatives.
   • Implement cost reduction projects to improve production efficiency.
   • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions.
   • Support technical teams in implementing new products or process trials.
6. Capital Expense (Capex) Management:
   • Follow up on assigned capital expense projects, including risk assessments and obtaining approvals.
   • Coordinate with vendors for quotes, specifications, and project drawings.
   • Ensure projects are completed on time, with documentation updated.
7. Production Spares and Tools Management:
   • Manage and monitor inventory of production spares and consumables.
   • Coordinate the calibration and repair of production tools and equipment.
8. Additional Responsibilities:
   • Identify areas of improvement to maximize production while maintaining EHSQ standards.
   • Support budget preparation and monitor operational expenses and profitability.
   • Ensure shift teams follow established process control parameters and recommend improvements as needed.
   • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve operational breakdowns and troubleshoot issues.
   • Keep up to date with advancements in engineering and production practices.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
3. Good knowledge in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or polymer science.
4. Experience with process safety management and quantitative risk assessments (e.g., LOPA, safety case preparation) is advantageous.
5. SCEM or Steam Engineer/Boiler Attendant certification is preferred.
6. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SS506-Part 3, cost control, and relevant regulations.
7. Motivated, energetic, with a proactive mindset and willingness to take on challenges.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
