POSITION SUMMARY
Tolerance Masters, Inc. is a precision machine shop located in Circle Pines, MN. We specialize in the manufacturing of close tolerance flight safety and critical performance machines parts and sub-assemblies.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to support our CNC machining operation. This role will involve assisting in the daily maintenance and organization of the shop floor, maintaining inventory accuracy, preparing materials for production, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing general support to the Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in material handling or warehouse management, be able to handle various tasks, and have a keen eye for detail.
HOURS
Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Fridays – Opportunity for Overtime
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Various duties supporting the Production Manager, including shipping and receiving, picking up/dropping off parts, packaging and cleaning parts
- Safely transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to and from designated areas, ensuring materials are readily available for production lines
- Track and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring materials are stored correctly and in compliance with safety and quality standards
- Efficiently load and unload materials from delivery trucks, using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and ensuring proper storage upon arrival
- Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor or quality control team. Ensure materials are in the proper condition for use in production
- Properly label, organize, and store materials in designated areas to minimize damage and ensure ease of access for production teams
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and best practices for handling hazardous materials, operating machinery, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and support smooth manufacturing operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Office
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; CNC machine environment preferred
- Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail for inventory accuracy, quality control, and safety procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, or walk for extended periods. Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift Certification
- Aerospace Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards is a plus
- Experience using JobBOSS
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment; moderate to high levels of dirt, noise, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, fumes, chemicals/solvents, and electrical hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc. is to be worn as applicable throughout the entire shift.
