Job Summary
As a caregiver, you will provide essential non-medical assistance to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and dignity. The role of a caregiver includes companionship, personal care support, assistance with daily living activities, and light housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities (based on level of care competency and assignment by management)
During a caregiver’s tenure with OYLH, assignment to cases will be contingent on level of care competency as demonstrated in the hiring/screening process. Competency levels will continue to be evaluated and adjusted based on supervision by management.
· Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
· Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as:
Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Mobility assistance and safe transfers
· Prepare and serve meals, including assistance with feeding if necessary
· Maintain client safety, monitor and report changes in client condition to agency management.
· Observe infection control protocols and adhere to all protocols set forth in the client plan of care.
· Provide transportation to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping.
· Light housekeeping.
Vacuum
Dust
Wipe down kitchen
Sweep/Mop floors
Straighten and maintain bathrooms after use
Clean client’s living area
Laundry
Linen Changes
· Provide medication reminders.
· Clock in and Clock out on time for every assigned shift.
· Document all task activity for every shift.
· Communicate clearly to both client and management personnel.
Qualifications
· Prior experience in caregiving, home care, or related field is a plus.
· State certification and license in good standing, if applicable.
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, proof of insurance (if required for client transport)
· Exceptional interpersonal skills.
· Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
· Ability to assist clients with mobility and physical transfers.
· Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work Hours
· Varies depending on client needs.
· Flexible scheduling (days, evenings, weekends, overnights available)
