Construction Project Manager

Rate: £47 – £62.02 per hour

Morson is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction projects for a prestigious defense client based in Barrow-in-Furness. In this role, you will manage the entire construction lifecycle, including new builds, renovations, and facilities management. You will be responsible for supervising contractors and ensuring the financial health of your projects.

This position is offered as an initial 12-month contract, working full-time on-site. We are looking for candidates with experience managing construction projects in regulated industries like Defense, Aerospace, or Nuclear. Site managers with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and reporting are also encouraged to apply.

Rate of Pay

• £47 per hour (PAYE)
• £62.02 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Contractors: Supervise and coordinate contractors on-site.
• Project Reporting & Scheduling: Provide advanced reporting and maintain project schedules.
• Oversee Construction Lifecycle: Manage all phases of construction from start to finish.
• Risk Management: Identify and manage risks that could affect project success. Use suitable project management methods, whether predictive or adaptive.
• Implement PM Practices: Support the development and application of tailored project management practices.
• Budget Management: Ensure effective budget management throughout the project.

Requirements

• Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing construction projects.
• Certifications: Health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or SMSTS are required.
• PM Qualification: A recognized project management qualification, such as APM Project Management Qualification.
• Knowledge of PM Practices: Comprehensive understanding of project management policies, processes, and tools.
• Stakeholder Management: Experience in building relationships and negotiating with internal stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address moderate complexity issues in project management using data from various sources.
• Security Clearance: Candidates must have SC clearance or be eligible for this level of clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work.
