MPower Ventures, a global for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for a Sales Manager with entrepreneurial attributes to be based in Accra. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Sales and After-sales:
Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals and providing after-sales support.
Ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
Identify New Business Opportunities and Market Trends:
Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and stay updated on market trends.
Develop strategies to capitalize on new opportunities.
Develop and Implement Sales Strategies:
Create and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
Monitor and adjust strategies based on performance metrics and market conditions.
Expand Customer Base:
Network and generate leads to expand the customer base.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Manage Contract Negotiations and Closing Deals:
Lead contract negotiations and ensure favorable terms for the company.
Close deals efficiently and effectively.
Provide After-sales Support:
Ensure customers receive excellent after-sales support and address any issues or concerns.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure Compliance with Company Policies:
Ensure all sales transactions comply with company policies and regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Track and Analyze Sales Performance Metrics:
Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to the Country Manager.
Use data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
Prepare Reports on Sales Performance:
Prepare detailed reports on sales performance, including achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Ensure Timely Collection of Payments:
Oversee the collection of payments from clients and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
Forecast Sales and Set Achievable Goals:
Develop sales forecasts and set realistic goals for the sales team.
Monitor progress and adjust goals as needed.
Coordinate Sales Efforts with Cross-functional Departments:
Work closely with marketing, product, and other teams to achieve sales objectives.
Ensure alignment and collaboration across departments.
Marketing and Customer Relationship Management:
Conduct market research to understand competitors and pricing strategies.
Act as the primary point of contact for project customers.
Develop and Present Sales Proposals:
Create and present compelling sales proposals and pitches for installation projects.
Tailor proposals to meet the specific needs of clients.
Team Development and Training:
Build and develop a strong network of sales agents nationwide.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience in the Ghanaian market is highly desirable.

Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
