Job Overview:
We are looking for a Head of Procurement to join our team. This role is for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in managing procurement within the government sector. You will lead and manage our procurement process, ensuring compliance with government rules and policies while also ensuring value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Procurement Efforts: Develop and manage the procurement system, ensuring it meets the Commonwealth’s rules and policies.
Strategic Guidance: Provide expert advice for complex and high-risk procurement decisions.
Team Management: Lead and support the procurement team, fostering a culture of improvement and efficiency.
Plan and Oversee Procurement: Ensure procurement plans are transparent, efficient, and provide value.
Compliance: Make sure EFA complies with procurement rules and standards, and provide regular reports to senior stakeholders.
Mentoring: Help improve the skills of the procurement team and raise awareness of best practices in procurement.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: You will need a relevant university degree, such as a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: At least 15 years of experience in procurement, particularly within the Australian government.
Expert Knowledge: You should be familiar with Commonwealth procurement laws and policies, like the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
Leadership: You need strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
Problem-Solving: The ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience negotiating at senior levels.
