POSITION SUMMARY
Tolerance Masters, Inc is a precision CNC machine shop located in Circle Pines, MN. We specialize in the manufacturing of close tolerance flight safety and critical performance machined parts and sub-assemblies.
We are seeking a Grinding Specialist to join our team. The Grinding Specialist is responsible for performing precision grinding operations to achieve tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes on machined components. This role involves setting up and operating grinding machines, inspecting finished parts, and collaborating with team members to ensure customer and industry specifications are met.
HOURS
Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Fridays: Opportunity for overtime
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
· Set up and operate a variety of grinding machines, including surface, cylindrical, and centerless grinders, to produce high-precision components.
· Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine grinding requirements, including tolerances and surface finish specifications.
· Inspect parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and surface roughness testers to ensure quality and accuracy.
· Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.
· Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety and operational procedures.
· Document production data, including part dimensions and inspection results, accurately and promptly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proven experience with grinding operations in a precision machining environment.
· Strong understanding of machining principles and material properties.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
· Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
· Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with CNC grinding machines and programming.
· Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or other high-precision industries.
· Knowledge of ISO or AS9100 quality standards
